Painting: fresh meat
Public advertissments refuse the “body-meat“ : a denial of flesh, of the inevitable decomposition of organic matter as it decays, and old age is registred.
An ideal body, without mistakes and flaws is constructed. Is the perception of reality possible without the process of getting older?
The created illusions of the advertissment world function with an hyperrealtistic esthetic and as a consequence, the difference between the real and the virtual is difficult to distinguish. Is the time of industrial reproducibility of the human body starting now?
This “perfect“ world surrounds us and the human body is confronted with more and more pressure, created by the market and maintained by ourselves. This commercialisation pushes towards the consumption of bodies by us. A modern kind of “civilised cannibalism“ is born. “Free thinking“ spaces are limited. Is the definition of our society focused on a “ one - dimension perception“- that of conformity, where neither personal nor emotional perceptions nor “faulty“ human bodies are accepted?
My work trys to reintegrate the human body with its weakness and its faults. In this perspective, the “mystical animal“ in ourself is awoken up with the impulsions of passion, volputuousness and whirls of happiness.
I am searching for a counter-statement to the glossy images of fashion magazines as a critical view to medias in society. The doctrines of new pseudo- genetic researches are in discussion.
